Technics SU 3500 Stereo Amplifier
1975
The amplifier from Rainer Collection
This item is originally my first first stereo amplifier bought in 1975. I've got it back from my school friend now. As a collector I'm very happy because it is still as good in shape as I sold to my friend around 1980.
The amp provides 55 watts pc and that's enough for rocking the whole house and neighbors. A three-stage impedance matching for phono input is something special. Two phono inputs were already standard at Technics amplifiers.

This is MY amplifier. Its looks had me dreaming as a kid! I never bought it, my parents had no money at the time. When I grew up the amplifier was discontinued. The is no other piece of equipment quite as beautiful as this!

Excellent amplifier. Very detailed, with great bandwidth range, really musical and powerful. If you can find one of these in good condition (recommended to change all the electrolytics) it will be a very good purchase for the money. So good or better than many with more fame and price. I have tested them with a modern speakers system (Russell Red K100) and the sound is fantastic.
ReplyDeleteI had this amp back in the 80's along with the Marantz 1060. Without a shadow of a doubt the Technics was better in its reproduction. A few years ago I purchased a really nice example, and just bought another Marantz. Both about to undergo recaping to give them another side be side comparison.

ReplyDeleteSimply a beautiful piece of art, that's what I think of this powerful and well built amplifier. One of my favourites in my collection for sure. So many options and inputs you can never get tired of it. If you come across one just grab it, this one is a winner!
